FOURTH SEMESTER

            Course -401: computer Graphics & Multimedia

 

Computer Graphics Fundamentals:      Basic graphics system and standards, raster scan and random scan graphics. Continual refresh and storage   display, digital frame buffer flat panel displays. Display processors and character generators, color display techniques (shadow mask and penetration CRT , color look up tables).

Interactive Graphics : interactive input-output device interactive graphical techniques posting ,elastic line, linking zooming ,panging ,clipping ,windowing reasoning.

Basics of Multimedia : concept of multimedia ,basic terminology, H/W and S/W referents, Multimedia application Digital representation of sound and transmission, Musical Instrument and digital interface (MIDI), digital Video and image compression, JPEG image compression, DVD technology.

 

 

Course- 402: SOFTWARE ENGINEERING                      

 

Software Engineering Definition, Software life cycle models: Waterfall, Spiral prototyping, Cost model, Software process. Software requirement specification (SRS), Fact-Finding Techniques, Characteristics of a good SRS

Software analysis tools and Techniques  : DFD, Entity Relationship Diagrams, Projects Dictionary.

Analyzing a problem, creating a Software Specification Document.

Software Design: Fundamental Design concepts for data architectural and procedural design.

Software Implementation: Relationship between design and implementation, implementation issues and programming support environment, coding the procedural design good coding style and review of correctness and readability.

Software Testing: role of testing and its relationship to quality assurance, nature and limitation to software testing. software testing methods. Unit testing, white box testing, integration tests Black box testing.

Software maintenance : Reasons for maintenance types for maintenance(Perfective, adoptive ,corrective) techniques for maintenance.

 

COURSE-403:COMPUTER COMMUNICATION NETWORK

 

Advantage of computer networks ,structure of the Communication network, point-to-point and multi point circuits, network topologies, Analog and digital communications  asynchronous and Synchronous transmission. Data encoding Techniques, Modulation demodulation techniques, Multiplexing .Connection orient and connection less services.

Switching : Circuit, Packet and message switching.

Network Classification : LAN, WAN, MAN, Wireless network, internet work and internet.

Transmission media : Guided and unguided media.

Network connecting devices: network interface boards, Hubs, repeaters, modems.

Internet connecting device : Routers, Gateways.

Network Reference Models : Layered Architectures, protocol Hierarchies, ISO reference model. TCP/IP reference model, introduction to function of physicals .link, Network and Application layers.

 

 

COURSE -404 :VISUAL PROGRAMMING

Basic concept of Windows programming, Windows programming Using MS product Visual Basic, Event Driven Programming. Visual Basic Language Over Variables, Function, Controls, Customizing Focus, Functions, And Procedural Validation. Trapping run time errors, Accessing Data Using the Data Access objects OLE Concepts and usage of COM and DCOM.

COURSE-405 : COMPUTATIONAL NUMERICAL ANALYSIS

Numerical systems and error, Floating point arithmetic, sources of error solutions of linear equations. Zeros of transcendental equations and polynomials systems, of non linear equations. Solutions of systems of linear equations. Gaussian elimination compact forms, pivoting, iterative methods of jacobi and gauss-Siedel, matrix invention Eigen values and eigenvectors of matrices. The largest eigenvalue in magnitude by the power method, eigenvalues and eigenvectors of symmetric metrics by householder’s method. Interpolation and approximation polynomial, herimite and Spline interpolation curve fitting, polynomial least squares approximations, orthogonal-Numerical differentiation and instigation numerical solution of ODE (picard, Runge-Kutta, Predictor-(correctors Euler method)
