Modern day life depends solely on electric power. In order to meet the ever-increasing demand for electric power, engineers and technologists are engaged in harnessing electrical energy from conventional and non-conventional sources. With the advancement of electronics, the cost index shows a steep downward trend and miniaturization of the devices has captured the market as well as the imagination of the people at large. In fact, electrical and electronics engineering have revolutionized every field of importance right from domestic life to space exploration.

The need to cater the overwhelming demand for trained professionals in the above fields has led to the establishment of this department in the institute. The department has an input of 120 students per year in B Tech programme.

The department imparts education in multifarious disciplines of electrical and electronics engg. The most important areas such as generation, transmission and distribution of electrical power, instrumentation & control, signal processing, microprocessor based system are included in the prescribed syllabi for the program. The course curricula, combined with practical approach, produce professionals who are fully competent to face the challenging assignments in the field.

The department has well-qualified, energetic young faculty headed and guided by a seasoned Professor and Head of the Department.
